Mickey Mantle is one of the most beloved baseball players of all time. He was the iconic superstar every boy growing up in the 50s and 60s idolized. When it came to baseball talent, he could do everything, as evidence by him winning the triple crown in 1956. He also won 3 MVP awards. The "Mick" was a flat out winner. During his 19 year career he went to 12 World Series, winning 7 of them. A switch hitter, he had power from both sides of the plate and hit over 30 home runs in a season nine times. He played from 1951 to 1968 and amassed 536 home runs, 1,676 runs scored, 1,509 RBI, and a batting average of .298. Mantle was inducted in the baseball hall of fame in 1974.
