1963 Topps Baseball Card Set Guide

Set Description
1963 Topps is one of the most popular sets to collect from 1960's. Each card has a crisp design with bright colors and clear photography. The player photo dominates the front of the card, with a colorful banner on the bottom containing the player's name, team and position. There is also a small circle with a black and white pose of the player. Topps reduced the size of the set to 576, but it can still be challenging to collect. There are less subset than in previous years but some legendary multi-player cards. This includes "Power Plus" (Banks/Aaron), "Pride of NL" (Mays/Musial), and "Bomber's Best" (Mantle/Richardson/Tresh). The "high number" series 7 contains some tough short prints and rookies. The highlight and most valuable card in the set the Pete Rose rookie. His card is part of the 1963 "Rookie Stars" cards, which features Rose plus 3 other players. Each wax pack also contained 1 peel-off sticker. The set contained 46 cards, and were printed with blank back (rare) or instructions. The peel-off set is highlighted by Mickey Mantle
