1966 Topps Baseball Card Set Guide

Set Description
The 1966 Topps set is somewhat similar to the 1965 sets in that is has the same amount of cards and the cards in each series remained constant. The difference lies in the "high numbers". From a design standpoint, the front of the cards feature large color photography with a banner in the top corner containing the team name. A banner at the bottom of the card states the players name in large bold print and their position in smaller print. The backs again contain stats, a biography, and a cartoon. Series 7, the "high number" series, is extremely tough to find, especially in high grade. What makes it so difficult is a number or short prints are included. Collectors will pay a premium for common short prints in nice condition. 1966 "high numbers" are considered some of the most difficult to find series of all 1960
Topps sets. The set itself contains a few subsets, including "League Leaders", "Rookie Stars", "Veteran All-Stars", team cards, and checklists to name a few. The insert included in the 1966 packs were called "rub-offs", which were temporary tattoos. There were 120 different tattoos in the set
