1955 Topps Baseball Card & Price Guide: Checklist And Key Cards
1955 Topps Set Description

Topps changed things up for the 1955 issue. The size of the cards remained constant but the front of each featured horizontal images. Each card featured an up close portrait of the player with a small action pose. The bottom of each card has a banner (team color) stating the player's name, position, and team. A facsimile signature is also included on each card. Team logos were placed at the top right or left corner as well. Topps originally planed for 210 cards but 4 were never released (card # 175, 186, 203, 209), leaving the set at 206 total cards. This is Topps smallest set in regards to number of cards. Many pictures looks similar to the 1954 set since Topps reused the same picture to save money.
