1956 Topps collection with Jackie Robinson, Mantle, Aaron

Just as we were driving home from another card deal, the phone rang. Bob was on the line, and asked if we were interested in his vintage card collection. He knew there were several binders of cards he collected in the 50s, but didn’t know if there was much value there. Luckily it was on our way home and we stopped by his home in Novi, Michigan. It didn’t take long to be amazed. The 1st page of the first binder featured a 1953 Jackie Robinson! There were about 200 1953 Topps cards in all. Next a 1954 Topps Ted Williams appeared. The fireworks really started in the 1956 Topps section; every major star was present, including Ted Williams, Ernie Banks, Jackie Robinson (3 of them!!!), Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax, and Mickey Mantle. For 1957, there was a Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Yogi Berra, and Frank Robinson Rookie. Finally, 1958 contained a nice Hank Aaron card and 2 beautiful Roberto Clemente cards.
