Discover the most valuable Topps, Fleer, & Philadelphia Jim Brown football cards with our year-by-year price guide and checklist

Jim Brown was one of the most remarkable running backs of all time. Drafted 6th overall by the Cleveland Browns in 1957, he completely re-wrote the NFL record books. Brown played 9 seasons in the NFL and led the league in rushing for 8 of them. He was an selected as an all-pro and to the pro-bowl every season he played. In addition, he won league MVP 3 times during his career. Many consider him the best running backs of all time, and he has the stats to back it up. Brown finished his 9 year career with 12,312 rushing yards and 126 total touchdowns. What makes this even more impressive is that these numbers were compiled when the regular season was only 12 games. He is the only player in NFL history to average over 100 yards a game for his career. Brown decided to walk away from football at the age of 30, still in his prime, to pursue acting and become more involved with the civil rights movement. The Pro Football Hall of Fame honored him with enshrinement in 1971.
