Incredible Westland Baseball Card Find
Shoebox filled with 1954 topps Aaron, Banks, & Kaline discovered in Westland, MI Basement
An unforgettable sports card discovery occurred in a Westland, MI basement. An initial call about some unopened boxes from the early 90s turned into an incredible find of 1950s Topps and Bowman cards.
Buried in the basement were multiple shoe boxes, a cigar box, and several binders packed with vintage sports cards. One box had over six-hundred 1954 Topps cards. At first it looked to be all commons, but hidden in the second row of cards were rookies of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks (x3), and Al Kaline (x4)! A cigar box revaled about one-hundred 1952 Topps cards, including Berra, Feller, & Snider (x3). Another binder had near complete sets of 1953 Bowman color (with Mantle, Reese, and Berra), 1953 Bowman black and white, and 1954 Bowman (with Mantle and Mays!) Click here to read the entire story.
