1911 E94 George Close Candy Baseball Cards

1911 E94 Set Description

e94 back no stamp.jpg

The 1911 E94 baseball set was produced by The George Close Candy Company and contains 30 different cards. E94s looks similar to the E93 and E98 sets in look and players, but E94s are much rarer.  The set features a colorized image of the player with one of seven different color backgrounds (blue, gold, green, olive, red, violet, or yellow), along with the player's name and team on the bottom. The color variations make completing a master set quite challenging.  Cards can have one of eleven different back variations.  One has a set checklist with no overprint, while there are 10 different candy product overprint stamps available.  To provide an idea of value, an SGC 1 Ty Cobb gold background sold for almost $29,000 in 2024.
