This was truly an incredible find. The original owner assembled a collection of about 200 tobacco cards in the 80s! Almost 50 Hall of Famers were present, including Ty Cobb, Christy Matthewson! Most were acquired for "several dollars or less". What a time to be alive!
1930's Goudey Hoard
We received a call from an older gentleman regarding older baseball cards. We walked in the door and our jaws hit the floor. On the coffee table were hundreds of Goudey cards from 1933, 1934, 1935, and 1938. Highlights included a 1933 Lou Gehrig, 4 (yes 4!) 1934 Lou Gehrigs, a 1934 Hank Greenberg rookie, 3 1935 4-1 Babe Ruths, and a 1938 Joe Dimaggio!
T206 lot and 1933 Goudey Complete Set
Another incredible collection we were able to purchase. This collection featured over 100 T206 cards which were amassed by the owner's grandfather from 1909-1911. These cards were absolutely beautiful and included 2 Ty Cobb Red portraits, a Cy Young (bare hand), and many others HOFers. The collector also put together a beautiful 1933 Goudey complete set, along with several extra Babe Ruths and Lou Gehrigs!
